With March vast approaching we thought it only fitting that we share one of our songs to help celebrate International Women’s Day! We will be playing at the Tolbooth in Stirling on Friday the 9th of March and The Birnam Arts Centre on Saturday the 10th, two specail women’s day concerts so we hope to see you there!

The year is getting off to a busy start for us. This week we will be working on material for the third album which we are aiming to release in October. We already have a few ideas up our sleeves so are all looking forward to getting a chance to meet again to get going with it…..and catching up! We are now spread from London all the way to Inverness so getting a chance to hear what everyone has been up to is quite exciting!

A few of us have been working on solo projects in the meantime.

You can hear what Rachel has been working on on her facebook page, including her busy recording/touring schedule with Emily Portman.

Shona wrote a beautiful commission for the BBC entitled ‘Tidal Island,’ inspired by Eilann Tioram which you can hear here.

The live show we did back in March for International Women’s Day has just been played again and you can hear it for a week or so here. It was for Mary Anne Kennedy’s Global Gathering show.

Amy has been playing with the Kathryn Tickell band and busy dancing, teaching and playing on all sorts of projects, including a duo with our very own Shona. You can hear some of her own music here.

I (LB) have been working on a ‘New Voices’ commission for this years Celtic Connections which will be performed on the 29th of January, you can get info at the website.

We are starting to firm up Shee dates for festivals and gigs for 2012, and will update the gig list later this month when more info is avaliable.

We also played at Cropredy Festival which is the bigegst audience we have ever played to. It was a really exciting experience including a huge screen behind us  (of us!!) so that people at the back could see. We’ll try and put some photos up of this soon so you can see too.

This weekend will round off our summer gigs with a trip to Festival Awaranda in France on Friday and a gig at Kings Place in London on Saturday. Be lovely to see some of you London pals if you’re about!

October sees a week of rehearsals to get material together for a new album which we are hoping to release next year. We’re all looking forward to bringing our ideas to the tabel and seeing what happens. We’ll keep you posted!

There’s a fair bit of catching up to do. We had a really lovely April tour, thanks to everyone that came out to see us. We travelled the length and breadth of the county and visited some venues that are new to us, including Eden Court in Inverness, Skippinish in Oban and our debut gig in Wales-The Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd. The weather was lovely to us which definitely added to our enjoyment! After the tour we headed to Shetland for one of the most party-hard festivals we have ever been to. The concerts took us all about Shetland, each venue full to bursting with great audiences. We had a great time meeting bands such as Sver and Pokey La Farge and The South City Three playing tunes with lots of friends from home. The weather was beautiful (which apparently isn’t normal!) and our hosts were really accomodating. Thanks for having us Shetland!

This weekend we took a trip down to dorset to Wimbourne Folk Festival. A very long journey, but we really enjoyed the gig. It had a great line-up, definitely worth checking out if you get a chance.

Next up for Cialis Online To Buy, Cialis Positioning Statement ## Online Safely is The Star Folk Club in Glasgow, Findhorn Universal Hall and the Catstrand, all featuring Mairearad Green on Accordion. More info is avaliable on our gig page.

Next up after summer gigs is some Shee time to start working on new material. We are all looking forward to it, and are aiming to record a new CD in the next year. Fingers crossed!

Us  Shee girls are getting ready for our April tour which is going to take us from London all the way back up to Shetland. We’ll be playing numbers from Decadence and A Different Season and are really looking forward to getting  a nice long stint of gigs in. This month’s Songlines includes a ‘Top of The World’ CD featuring the editor’s selection of 10 tracks from the best new album releases. ‘Troubles’ from Decadence has been picked to be included so we are very grateful for that. Thanks Songlines!

After an exciting 2010, 2011 is starting to fill up for Cialis Online To Buy, Cialis Positioning Statement ## Online Safely with our April tour looking like it’s going to be great fun. You can see the updated gig list here.

We have also just heard that we were FATEA’s 2nd runner up for Live Performers of The Year 2010 which is a nice surprise.

Next up for us is a gig at Celtic Connections in Glasgow on the 22nd of January as part of ‘Borders Night‘ alongside Lori Watson’s Rule of Three and lots of other great acts from the borders. Celtic Connections is a highlight of the year for us, not least becasue it saves us from getting too fed up with the long cold nights. It’s worth a visit if you have never ventured before, with a huge line up of folk music from all over the world and a great festival club.

Anyway, enough waffling, back to some work!
